Dr. Andrew Jenkinson

Dr. Andrew Jenkinson is a general surgeon with UAE residency status, practicing in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates. He specialises in surgery for weight loss and diabetes, acid reflux disease, gallstones, hernia repair and surgical emergencies.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and holds a Master of Surgery title for his research thesis. He is a member of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society, the International Federation of Surgery for Obesity, the Association of Upper GI Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Jenkinson is passionate about upholding the highest levels of professionalism, care and integrity for his patients. He was inspired to a career in surgery from an early age and qualified from Medical School at 23. He undertook a rigorous residency and fellowship training program over 10 years including placements at London teaching hospitals including the world-renowned Hammersmith Hospital, Royal London Hospital and University College London Hospital. His interest in surgical research was stimulated by the Master of Surgery thesis in the field of laparoscopic surgery for acid reflux. He has subsequently published over 80 research papers and presentations. He has been actively involved with training junior surgeons in the UK, Europe, America and the Gulf.

In 2012 Dr. Andrew opened his first practice in Dubai Healthcare City. His aim was to bring world class surgical standards and teamwork to Dubai so that patients did not need to travel overseas for this. In 2014, he opened his clinic in Al Zahra Hospital, Dubai.

His clinic is presently based in Abu Dhabi at Reem Hospital  and in Al Ain at Ain Al Khaleej Hospital . He has built a team of trusted professionals highly trained in the UK and USA including experts in anaesthesia, gastroenterology, psychology, diabetes and dietetics.

Dr Andrew maintains a clinical practice in Harley Street London and operates from The London Clinic Hospital and Cleveland Clinic London.
